Hey all - thanks for the comments and votes. I suppose my marks shall only go up. I rushed this one, so I have skipped the Bridge Challenge and will probably submit to the From Above one.
Yes, this was wax from a candle which I melted in a frying pan then poured onto paper as it was solidifying, then dumped the blue and white on it. My idea was to have something strange coming from the drop - instead of a typical "dropped" egg shot.
The 'blur' was and wasn't intentional. It was in that if I didn't do it at all, the wax was too clear - it looked LIKE WAX. I wanted it to look a little fuzzier, but melting it and taking the picture wasn't working - the sides were reflecting from the wetness. So the intentional blur was there to try to soften what you saw and make it look like it came from the egg, not that I dropped an egg onto some wax.
Thanks,
Matt |

Placement of the egg is just right, and a nice gooey mess make for an interesting shot. It is out of focus, however, and this detracts greatly from its effectiveness. Also try experimenting with different backgrounds; white may not be the best choice. |

LOL, I'd freak if I cracked that into a frying pan. :) |

Good original idea. It seems that you focused on the center of the frame - I think you should have focused on the egg shell. |
