CRITIQUE CLUB
Challenge: Met the challenge perfectly, while still being very creative and clever.
Technique: The only thing I would suggest here is to not use the on-camera flash. It adds alot of "wash" to the image and causes a large shadow behind the bird. Simply by using high power lights, or even natural outdoor lighting (through a window), this image would have had much more depth and clarity.
Overall: A great idea that just needed some technical cleaning. |

Colorful-- the flash washed out a bit in the upper lef, though. Otherwise, nice colors. |

Good photo, doesn't do much for me though. |

Great expression caught on the bird! A clever idea that may be more effective with some different angles and levels of light rather than just a flash. |

Neat shot! Too bad you had to flash this (shadows and glare). Color seems a little muted, but pretty good (esp. the wings of the parrot). Challenge met. 6 Swash |

This would be great with a black background. |

LOL!!! Great title - good expression on the bird - looks quite proud and concerned at the same time!! Lighting is a bit harsh/background not great, but I like the overall photo. 7 |

Good concept, but the flash is a little harsh on this. If the lighting in the room is bad, I would try shooting on a tripod without flash and brightening it if necessary afterwards |

Lovely bird.... (I have a Congo Grey & a Pionus myself). As far as the photo, I would have chosen a plain background so as not to distract from your nice photo composition. Also, I might have tried to use more natural light instead of a flash (caused distracting shadows behing bird). Like the title for this shot! |

Very creative, but you need to work on your lighting. Looks like an on camera flash with way too much glare. A side light or two her would have really cut the glare and brought out the colors. |

I liked the idea and set-up, the flash did you wrong. |

the flash muddles the background some. does he/she pose for you? bit on the bright side. the feet are an interesting area. May be a good idea for something later |

I love it. You're going to get hit about the background, but I still love it. Great focus, unique composition, nice execution, and one of a kind. It's well worth an 8. |

Too many colors. Wallpaper is distracting. |

What a sweet bird. He looks like he would be a talker. Looks like he's keeping an eye on that camera. Good shot. |
