I must have taken 200 shots of this composition. Spent the day doing just this. I'm not sure how it'll be received considering the subject matter, but I really like this shot and that's what matters (I think). I know people have been critical about haloing around candles so I doubt this will score well. I just felt that the incense smoke and halos added to the "atmosphere".

Just FYI I chose those three tarot cards for a reason. I chose the Queen of Cups to represent myself (a fair, good and decent mother/woman), Temperance to represent my feelings about the scores I'll receive (putting on a brave face) and Judgement because that's what this site is all about!

As far as post processing goes, this was cropped, upped the saturation a little, auto levels and that's about it.

Nice light and concept but --- less is more.

Cluttered and busy, no real focal point. Ones eye is led on a goose chase in this photo. Keep on trying.

Nice arrangement. Some additional lighting on the subjects, especially the darker objects, might help.

The light, especially in the area of the cards and the knife, is lovely ... but i really wish you hadn't included so very much stuff in the shot. Together with the really very bright candles it makes it a difficult image to look at for long ... there is too much to remove the eye from the cards, and not enough to hold the attention once drawn. Simpler is very often better, and can communicate just as much if carefully composed. 5

The magical tools out in the open. A great composition with richness and mystery.

I like the setup, but I think a little bit of adjustment would have been helpful. Having the words on the cards so close to the bottom of the frame is distracting... my eye keeps being drawn to them, away from the more central parts of the photograph. Unfortunately I also see no real focal point; there is nowhere for my eye to go. Perhaps a lower angle would have helped.
