Awesome street guy I met in Toronto. I asked if I could take his picture, he obliged, stuck his finger in his ear. I gave him a fin and was on my way.

Oh yeah...then he offered to take a photo of my friend and me. um...no. Thanks. We're good. :)

Great lighting -- I'm not sure if this intended to be funny or not. The good thing is that makes it an interesting photo -- one in which I'm interested in finding out more.

What an absolutely marvellous portrait. Reminiscent of images from the dawn of the photographic era yet still utterly appealing today. I like the high contrast, the harsh lighting, the composition, the background and, of course, the model and his pose and expression. 10
What a superb image!

An excellent portrait. It tells a story, and is technically well exicuted in its own right. That's the challenge in a great portrait, and you've done a fantastic job. 9

Last night I watched Logan's run and there is an old man in the movie. Your shot reminds me to him. Wonderful portrait with full of emotions, I love that each hair of his are visible separately, I can almost feel it with my fingers. The composition you used works well, too. Good luck! :-)

Interesting! The fine detail in the beard and hair would likely be better served by a larger size of image, but there's nothing you can do about that here. Maybe a bit oversharpened, though my LCD is quite unforgiving when considering sharpness. Well done.

I had the editted artsy version of this in my favourites... It's mysteriously vanished! :-)
This picture is awesome, the slight color tone on it really works well.

Very, very nice. Love the rich tones throughout. One of my favorite black and whites. The very BOL. Personal note: Not sure the title fits. Looks more like and "itch" or "can't remember exactly but it was in the year ought. . . "

Into my favorites & one of the best 10 in the challenge IMO.

What a character - you've done this amazing face justice with this one. Great capture. The browny/grey cast works brilliantly. 10.

Heh heh he, check my profule photo. I guess this is how I'll look like 40 to 50 years from now. :)

Great portrait, I like the weathered expression, lookes like a seasoned fisherman.
The way the light falls is very good. All the bright tones on the face and beard, all the dark tones on his jacket and background. Makes the face stand out very well.

if it wasn't for the red noise around his right eye this would be perfect, great expression and nice BW conversion.

Love the character in this man. Very nice tones and good choice for b&w/sepia. I really like th comp. as well. I will say, though, my first thought (before looking at your title) was that it didn't make me think of plugging his ear...instead it made me think of how people jokingly pretend to have a gun to their head. I don't mean any offense by that. It's just what first popped into my head. Great pic. -9-

Stunning black & white portrait. Nice use of natural light. The squinted eyes and half-open mouth as well as the unkempt hair and beard all add to the impression (to me at least) of an old man at the fringe of society and, perhaps, sanity. ....10....
