My stepdaughter posed for this shot. I hope that the intended pun of "scarf face" won't be lost on everyone! The crop is also supposed to suggest that there could be a scar on the other side of the face or even under the scarf. I tried a B&W version of this that I also like but decided on this as I like the colours of the scarf and the reflected highlights around the hair.

Shot against a black background with one tungsten light and reflector and a speedlight behind the model triggered at 1/32 power to provide the halo.

Cropped, levels, contrast, NeatImage, resize and USM. Wish I could spot edit a few stray highlights and darken the black background but basic editing rules don't allow.

Hope this may do quite well but we'll see. Portraiture is new territory for me!

I don't understand your choice for the title. I can't see any scars, nor does the hidden half of the face suggest any. I like the corona around the hair. The negative space is no good though. 6.

From what I can see she doesn't seem scarred but that is probably intentional. You need to give just a little more hint of it.

OH so neat. . . but imho, the specs and the spot of harsh light detract from this very unique interpretation BOL 7
