Taken under the rail bridge running from Brighton to Lewes, where it crosses London Road.

Probably not going to do very well because it doesn't show the bridge proper, but the support structure was the most impressive thing that I found to photograph.

Thanks Kim!
I tend not to rate my own photos very highly and I'm aware of the "fickle" nature of the DPC voters. I figured the barbed wire and the lack of "Bridge" would put some people off (as evidenced the 7 people that voted this pic as 3 and under).

Those that are interested can check out the outtakes from this challenge in this portfolio, these pictures show more of the bridge and you can get a sense of how it fits. "Escher Re-visted" was almost entered instead of "Infinite Support" I was torn between the two.

Thanks for the comments and the voting.

I almost didn't submit this because of the barbed wire.. It bothered me so much that I debated going down late at night and cutting it out, just so I could take the shot properly. My good sense got the better of me and I decided that a blue ribbon wouldn't help much with the barrister's fees if I got caught. ;)

Does DPC have a legal fund set up for it's members?

I love this photograph, but I don't see how this can be part of a bridge. I really like the colouring of the bricks and the continual supports as shown, but I would have to see a bigger picture to see how it all fits in with a bridge?

This is a very intriguing photo - I love the brick tones and all the openings - but is this a bridge? It doesn't look like one.

Near nesting effect of the arches.

When it first started coming up I thought it was boring. I was mistaken! I don't think this shot could have been composed better!

Interesting - where is this?

This is an excellent photo and I'm scoring it rather high (9). I really like the perspective in this shot, but it just doesnt' say 'bridge' to me. The architecture doesn't really indicate a bridge, even though it probably is :) - setzler

Excellent composition and capture of the ligh/shadows. I guess there is only a short time that this situation exists.
It is like looking into a mirror against a mirror, a seemingly never ending repetition fading into the distance. Nice how the sun gives colors to the stones. Too bad that there is a fence and barb wire there. :(

I really love this photograph. The eye is really led into the image by the arrangement of the supports. I also like the colour of the brick. It is a pity about the barbed wire, but there isn't much the photographer can do about that. I also think that the shadow on the first support detracts from the overall image, but nevertheless it is a lovely shot.
