lighting and focus seem a bit off, that with distance from challenge subject doesn't help either.

Very hard subject to capture well. The background is a little too similarly colored, you might try a more white-ish background. The site rules specifically define other people's art, IMO this is OPA (even if you did the glazing etc.) 3 Swash
