My first submission...

I've driven past this bridge on a nearby freeway for more than 20 years, and never stopped to look closely until today. The deck of the bridge is crumbling into the water, and is about to come down. I struggled to choose a shot that I thought was unique yet good enough. I think the the sepia tone adds to the feeling of of the shot. Let me know what you think.

I think this shot could use more grain and low color But a very vintage looking shot. Thanks for the critique

COMPOSITION
The composition of this works well. It takes your eyes across the frame in a simple, but effective manner. I think something else to explore, if you could get close enough, is to compose it or frame it in such a way as to highlight the crumbling part of the bridge, as that is very interesting.

TECHNIQUE
Your focus is right on, as I can see the details of the bridge and surrounding terrain. It is a bit overexposed in the upper right hand corner. Would it have been possible to photograph at another angle or time of the day?

OVERALL EFFECT
The sepia tone in this works very well, I think, to add to the "decaying" feel of the picture. Nicely done, and congrats on your first entry. Hope you enjoy DPC!

Best to you in future challenges.

Clever title, but there is more grass and junk than water here. The bridge does indeed look troubled, but so do the trees, which actually steal my attn away here.

Why is it a troubled bridge? Is it in disrepair? It looks like it in a few spots, but could you hve given us something more to look at as a bigger picture? I really like the color that you've captured, and the part of the river just below the bridge.

The sepia tone further reduces what little interest there is in this picture.

I like the texture of this photo.

I really like the tonal finish - it accents the age nicely. Really, this scene is pathetic a little, like the bridge has had enough - but it tells a story and looks great!
