Bernard Maybeck's Pallace of Fine Arts rotunda built for the 1916 Pan Pacific Exposition. A nice peice shot in teiirble light, as it has been murky over cast all week. I converted the shot to B&W to hide the fact that the sky was totally blown out.
This is shot with my new toy; an efs 10-22 mm lens and it is a lot of fun so far. This shot is at 10mm so the view is a bit twisted, but I like it.
Shot in RAW, tried to fix the sky, gave up and straight converted to TIFF for PS. desaturated, and leveled reduced for web and one pass with USM.

I have been lucky enought to have visited SF and this exact place. I know how difficult it is to make a great shot because the architecture is of truly grand proportions. Just trying to fit it into the frame is difficult.

I think you may have faired better with an abstract view showing part of the structure. Presented in this way its a bit central, straight down the middle and becomes just a bit predictable. The sky is totally blown out because of the difficult contrast levels. All of which makes me feel an abstract view would have faired better.

Still an impressive piece of "real" architecture, well done.

The keystoning/distortion does nothing for me, except as a turnoff.
