 Editing: levels, increase saturation, contrast +3, noise removal, resize, unsharp mask, sharpen tool at 5% on pollen and stamen.

This is the first flower picture I've entered at DPC and my One Year Anniversary is in March! It was so hard to pick one picture for this challenge. I thought I'd like to enter at least one flower for the year of 2004 and see how it does. I've entered so many mountains and train pictures that people are probably sick of them.

Great lighting & focus. Amazed this didn't finish higher in the challenge, but then after reviewing the entries, I see it was a pretty highly skilled & saturated field. Still, a great shot.

Pretty flower - the shadow it casts on itself is a little offputting though, as is the pollen. Nice crisp focus and good DOF though.

you've got a nice flower shot here. i hope you're getting some good comments and suggestions, and not getting lost in the shuffle of this huge challenge. if this image isn't scoring where you wanted it to, please don't take it personally. just look at this as a starting point for the rest of the year! good luck in this and the coming challenges!

I really like the focus, especially the pollen that you can see on the white of the flower. Wish the lighting was more centered on the whole of the flower rather than just the bottom part.
