Challenge: Breaking New Ground (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Date: Jan 13, 2005
Date Uploaded: Jan 15, 2005

1/60, F2.8, ISO 400 (I think).

Don't know how ground breaking it is, but it's definetly my style, which I want to be my trademark in concert photography.

No editing except to adjust levels.

yikes, just came back for a look and can't believe how poor the quality is in this edit.

I really like the intensity of this shot with the colors, the smokiness and the composition. Really gives a good feel for the atmosphere. Just watch out for that smoke machine.

Appreciate the words. Riotspyne, not sure exactly which shot you're thinking of, but the B&W ones (though I liked them a lot, some of my faves) I just didn't see breaking any ground :-)

Edit: the 50 4's I got are a wee bit sad. I don't care tho! I love this shot.

Yeah, thats true. Nice job all together though.

Lot of drama in this image. Good work on the composition and capturing the right moment.

I was kinda suprised you went with this one. I remember really liking one of the others but cant remember now. Seems like it was of corey in B&W. Couldnt be sure though.

Greatly captured atmosphere. The colour and mistiness adds to the photo. Also like the composition.

You've certainly captured the mood of what appears to be a punk concert... good job

Excellent groundbreaking image, a candid looking shot which evokes the passion and power of a live music performance. The image seems fishbowled, likely intentionally to suggest that quality of all live "in concert" people who live their personal lives on stage before crowds. 10

There have been several "live concert" images in this Challenge and I think yours is the best. You've interpreted the performer's movements and integrated them into the surroundings, rather than taking a static pose/portrait. Well done. 10
