I'm not sure the title serves the photo well. In my first look at the photo I was slightly puzzled at the half a face. Then I realized that the choice was ideal and inspired. The photo is not at all about this man. It is about this girl's relationship to him - what she feels about him. He only exists in the photo to inform us of the object of her affection. I think this is perfectly communicated by the way the subject is in crisp focus and is perfectly lit, while her subject of attention is the man. The warmth of feeling here is powerful.

The photo has the emotional strength of a great candid and the technical strength of a posed or composed shot. Excellent.

Feels like something out of a foreign film. Nice capture.

This is extremely sweet and effective. I suspect it won't do as well as I think it ought to, but I'd be proud of it if it were mine. the focus plane is spot-on, the cropping of the man's face is wonderful. The vertical component of the oof background, being slightly skewed, is a little off-putting to me. I'd have tried a hair more blur there, perhaps...

Incredibly compelling faces - wow! Perfect tonal range int he BW something odd about the way her head attatches to her body for me which disappear with just the tiniest bit more cropped off the bottom - 9

I think this is wonderfully composed. The expression on her face is priceless, and I like how everything beyond the eye is cropped in the upper left. Well done.

I am not entirely sure about the composition. The photo does not really tell "he's mine" itself. I also feel that there is not enough space at the right side of the arm, it looks a bit strange in the lower right corner this way.
Technically I think it is very good. Nice dof, good background (smooth, undetailed, darker and not drawing a lot of attention), good light (especially on her face and the hair), nice light in the eyers and good B&W toning.

Very nicely composed. I am a little confused by the title though. The girl has a very youthful appearence to me. She looks much younger than the male but not young enough to be his daughter. I assume it is her boyfriend and she is older than she appears.

Nice potrait with excellent BW work, but the mans face ruins it for me.

Haunting. Too much eye white makes a person look creepy, and the angle of her head makes her look like she has a lazy eye. Her hand is cut off. And the foreground subject is gonna be in my dreams tonight, I'm sure of it. Otherwise the lighting on the young one's face is exquisite, but was definitely not taken advantage of. 7

not sure that I like the cropping of the man on the left.

Wonderful... angle, lighting, focus, and the technicals come together with a great subject.
