On this challenge I discovery that it is almost to impossible to get a photo of a Frank Gehry design on a sunny day without at least some portion being of the structure being burned out due to glare. I tried to fiddle with apeture, shutter and ISO, but any combination that would show the burned out sections made the rest of the picture incredibly dark. Perhaps, I'll will be able to handle this as I get more experience, but, in the meanwhile, I think I'll try again on some future cloudy day. I do like this angle.
Oh, for those who may not have guessed, my title is a play on Kurt Vonnegut's title of his alter-ego, Kilgore Trout's fictional book "Venus on the Half-Shell" which, in turn, is a joke on Botticelli's painting "The Birth of Venus." It was later actually written by sci-fi writer Philip Jose Farmer with Mr. Vonnegut's permission to use Kilgore Trout's name. Sorry, long story, but I have the feeling someone would feel the need to correct me if I didn't fit it all in. |

It's a little too busy. I'd crop clooser to the curved parts (the roof?) and focus on that. |

chaotic composition of an incredible building. I don't think the angle is workign well for you. I also wish the figure right separated from the background shadow; that would help a whoile lot. |
