I don't know if this is a new tehnique, but personally, I use the benting of the photography, sometimes to catch more details and sometimes to give the photo an effect. In this case, the photography is catching more details of the city than a normal photo and also it has a flying effect over the city.

Este si Biserica Neagra in imagine, dar trebuie sa te uiti atent ... :)

So, The Black Church is also in this image, very small indeed, you have to look very closely.

Good luck.

Undi este Biserica Neagra?

Sorry, stiu romaneste foarte putin. Anyway, Brasov is a beautiful place...I was there for a few hours this New Years (and to my dismay, the black church was closed...and it was one of the things I wanted to see the most while in Romania). Maybe I can visit again in the future.

Nice shot, by the way. I like how the smoke stack in the distance looks quite mystical, like it's made of gold.

- jonpink, as you can see now is not Salzburg, it's Brasov(Romania) ...
- messerschmitt, this is not shooted from a baloon, but from a hill next to the city

Thank you all for the comments.

The longer I look at this, the more I like it! My first thought wasn't so positive, but your score is going up the longer I sit here :-) I really do feel like I'm flying, the depth is great.

Thats a neat perspective, I like how you tilted the view to make it look like the view of a flying bird.

is this shot from out of a balloon?
if so.. the balloonclub should order a big print and frame it and hang it in a convenient place..'cause its a fantastic view!

The sense of flying is perfectly captured here. If Brueghel were alive, I'm sure he would see this scene similarly.

I ask myself, if this shot would have benefitted from a moderate increase in contrast. On the other hand, I appreciate the restraint exercised in terms of saturation. Both manner (the tilt) and composition (accomodating the tilt) strike me highly effective.

I see this and I immediately think "Lord of the Rings". Great angle and superb presentation. Good luck.

Nice shot. I like how the eye is drawn to the smoke stack in the distance.

Awesome...what a landscape with this chimney in the background ! The special thing is the weak sunshine on it !
