 everything in order to preserve that natural coloured lights i shoot at 1600asa meaning quality reduces to 1MP ( i dont think too many cams have the 1600asa option..my handy fuji f700 does)
(dont let the 1 mp scare u)
the grainy effects might work well on various occasions and often adds illusionary quality and it has a express/impressionistic painted-like outcome in the best cases
one have to be somewhat lucky with the catch of the movement and the deformations as a result of this
the things i like about this view to me is it gives me the illusion the drummer just let go of his drummingsticks, wich dont prevent them at all carring on without the drummerboy, and just about to standup and loose himself in a swing to the riddem and particularly i like the grin on his face to this somewhat psychedelic happening
but im sure some people might disagree or think them twisted these reflections..but thats ok
soo if ure only into detail sharpness and crispyness this is not ur thing
otherwise ..try restaurants cafees parties fancy fairs snookerhalls or whatever involves colour and/or movement
its fun and results can be surprising and pleasing

besides i had a great evening with the jazzy MikeRoelofsQuartet with some totally awesome american guestplayers. 2 brothers on saxaphone and trumpet
the roof came off at Zoja's !! (hottest place in town)

would have been better had there been less noise. Noise is OK but perhaps a tad too much here?

Now, here is a good technique that would have done great in the impressionistic challenge. Outside of the minor burnt out area, this is indeed a cool camera rattle rime exposure. The colots are great and the flying drumsticks add flavor. 7
