 This is a photograph of a fire.

The effect was obtained by setting the camera's colour mode to Solarisation. I thought that this technique/style combined with heat/fire and flames may produse some interesting effects.
I did get some very abstract images when I changed the camera's sharpness setting from normal to soft. It was a handheld shot.

The only post-shot adjustments were cropping a small part of the left edge, tweaking the levels to put a little more colour back into the picture and to sharpen a minimal amount.
