I was walking around my neighborhood looking for something interesting to photograph. I thought it might be fun to try to photograph this tree. I spent a little while looking for what I thought was a fun viewpoint. After taking a couple of pictures from various viewpoints i decided to tro to look up the tree. I was amazed by how complex the tree suddenly became. It was hard to follow the maze od branches that stem off of the trunk. No post editing was done to this image.

This is a relatively pleasing image. The white bark adding the general tonal qualities of the composition.
I do however struggle a little on recognising where this fits in with the ground breaking challenge.

this is great, because it shows how such a simple change in orientation makes all the difference in a photo - i would never have thought of it. What a wonderful idea to shoot looking up a tree from the side. As a photo outside this challenge, it doesn't do much for me (just being honest), but I think this really does Break New Grounds, because it's so brilliant in its simplicity.
