 This picture was taken during an evening outing with the local snowboarding club.

I used an off-shoe Canon 420EX flash mounted on a tripod to the left of the camera together with a ST-E2 wireless transmitter on the camera.
This was my first attempt at any kind of sports/action photography and also my first try at using external flash so I didn't have the slightest clue to dial down the flash exposure, hence the overexposed pants and boots.
Shot as JPEG with a 24mm fixed lens at f/3.5, 1/200.

Editing:
Most importantly, I removed a tiny portion of the ground in the lower left corner. I also cropped the picture slightly from the right, applied some unsharp mask, darkened the sky a bit, and in a vain attempt I tried to rescue some details in the pants and boots with the burn tool.
