I really should have stopped to take the shot, but turned out to be impossible on the highway... no reversing the car.

all your comments are very helpful to me. i'd like to thank you for correcting me.

"Joro" your insightful comment is unique, even i didnt think it! haha..very nicely done.

Sorry about the guard rails... I thought that cropping it out will make the photo seem short (thin) and the ratio of sky and ground would be off.. also, i wanted to show the motion...

the off centre focus...where the new palm surrounded by the old seems cool to me...and the greens live on...

MArk.

Good photo. Too bad the guardrail was there. I think I would have cropped that out.

The guard rail is a major distraction for me.

The palm trees make you want to think "primitive," but the guard rail brings you back to the modern age. I'm not sure that is the contrast you were going for though--it looks like you wanted to contrast the brown palms with the green ones. If that is the case, cropping out the guard rail might have brought more attention to the contrast you intended. Did you take this from a moving car (which might have caused the blurry trees at the bottom)?

Beautiful surroundings. If you see a pic you like take the time and stop the car.

I would've cropped out the guard rail. Looks like a beautiful place!

I think this picture has a great deal of potential. I would have cropped out the guard rail. I would have also cropped it to bring more attention to the single "new" palm in the middle of the old palms. Did a good job on meeting the Challenge Title.

Wish the rail had been cropped out

when you don't crop, I can see that you didn't even stop to take the time to compose this. I would suggest cropping in on that new palm in the middle of the old, and crop the palm off center. Then it has some composition that I can get excited about.

Composition seems to be unplanned and distracting.

I really like the color in this image.. I believe nature shots are really beautiful!! I like the way you were able to catch soo many dead trees with soo many live ones.. I also like the way the trees look soo lively and the other trees are so dead.. its a good contrast. Nice job.

Pretty darn good, considering you didn't stop to take the photo. It could've be great had you stopped.

This might be improved by cropping out the guard rails.. but it is a beautiful picture

Would like to see this with the guard rail cropped out of the photo.
