A Frangipani flower placed approx 12 inches behind a parsley shredder plate (kitchen junk). Background is black cardboard. The shredder plate was placed close enough to the lens to encompass the entire FOV. Focus was on the flower. Lighting is off camera flash to the side of the flower.

great colors, but I think the horizontal bars are more of a distraction then a complement to the image. I'd like to see it tried with the blinds raised, to get pure light unfiltered. -8

Shooting from the same vertical angle as the striped light has negated a real possibility of ehhancing the sense of shape, of three dimensions here: given the background straight lines, some sense of curve might have really been useful across the petals of the flower. The texture is good, and the tonality, and the grey backing especially effective to set off those tones ... but it cries out of missed opportunity to me.

Having the shadows of the blinds means that you are wisely using nature's rising or setting light. It really warms your image. Nice shot!

I like the idea of using window light but I find the miniblind slats to be distracting.

Strange because the shadow (if that's what it is) doesn't follow the contours of the flower or change between the flower and the wall behind.
