Waldo is a small town near to where I live in Wisconsin. I have always been amused by the name and there are signs off to it from the interstate. I had planned to use one of the signs for the "Where's Waldo" challenge but it seemed a bit corny. However I thought it would be fun to enter it for the street sign challenge. I went to the village and tried several shots of the sign as you enter, but there is no arrow and it loses some of the message. So I decided to take a shot of the interstate sign.

Fortunately there is a frontage road that runs parallel to the highway where I could stop and set up the tripod. The sign is not illuminated so I used a hand held flash during the 3 second exposure to light it. The tail lights of cars and a truck added the feeling of motion. Increased the canvas size, rotated, cropped and then played with curves, levels, hue and saturation. The actual interstate signs in US are green, but I preferred the blue which was simply achived by shifting the hue and saturation. Very light sharpening and c'est tout! Wish I could clone the one white light that breaks up the top red trail....

Nice angle, and quite clever play of words. I think your choice of extended exposure and time of day was most effective in giving this photograph that extra bit of appeal. Well done.
