Wow, the minimalist approach. I actually find the writing and two dots to be too distracting. I wonder if we could have figured it out without them; I bet we could. And it is customary to have some part of the photograph in focus - or all of it quite out of focus. To make all of it just a bit out of focus will always convince us there is a flaw in photo.
I really like the idea, the lighting, the composition, and so on; but the flaws really get in the way. |

Painful yes, but the note is so out of focus, I couldn't tell what it is without the title. |

If the title wasn't "Dear Bob" I would have never understood what was going on here. The picture should do that without help from the title, in my opinion. |

This is an interesting use of shadows, but I'm missing the theme. I'm guessing from the title it's a "Dear John" letter. |

I don't care for this. It is too out of focus. Can't read the letter or see the pain. |
