Delightful self-portrait and nice use of negative space (the wood boards just really add to this mood). I like the grayscale/B&W photo, only think I wish is that your eyes were more in focus, kind of like your shirt. Good Luck. |

Too shallow DOF. Looks like the focus is on the left eye, and because the DOF is too shallow the right eye is a little softer. Not sure what your aperture was set at, but if you setting up a tad, that should take care of the soft right eye. |

Returning for comment:
Very nice and pleasing angle and very good background. While i would have prefered sharper eyes, the image remains strong and appealing. Bumping up. |

I wish you hadn't called it "Inner demons", because I keep sneaking back for another look, wondering what they are. None of my business, is what they are. Anyway, it is a very compelling portrait with a really effective composition. It has a rather stark feeling to it, but with that title I guess it was meant to. 7. |

Wow, I was just thinking about how all of these self portraits are much too serious and melodramatic...I mean, they're good, but nobody seems to be lighthearted. When I saw the title 'inner demons' I thought "oh no, another one". But this is different. It looks real and genuine. The composition is great. The focus on the eyes is a bit too soft for my taste, but otherwise this is a fantastic photo that I fear might be underrated in the voting. We'll see...I know that I like it. |
