nice shot, the shadow created is a bit harsh though. try using available light, longer exposure on a tripod or steady surface for a more natural result.

You did OK for your first challenge. Good composition and angle. The blow-out's a bit too harsh for me but you're on the right track for that fashion-mag vibe.

I have to try this as I always love the results of highkey when done as well as here. Great capture.

I cant decide if the flash shadow ruins or makes the shot. It looks like something off a Robert Palmer albumb. the close cropping makes for an uncomfortable familiarty, and the aversion of the eyes puts it into the voyeuristic. Odd, arresting, offputting and very beautiful.

I don't like the over-exposure much. With a beautiful face such as this I'd try to show as much detail as possible. The pose and composition are super!

High key goes about an octave too high: strikes me as screetching high key.

Vivien, right? You are very photogenic and this is a great shot (as have been the shots for your profile images.) I like the way you've done this high key, and there seems to be a motion/brush stroke texture that I really like here, though I'm can't exactly tell how it was done. I like the post, the clarity, but the crop is in-between the extremes, which could make the difference between a good and a really great photo. I see a number of really interesting crops here. One is a relatively square crop in the upper right, showing just your eyes and the bridge of your nose (hard to see exactly the shape of the crop here, since I am just using my hands to simulate it). Another would be to try and find a lower end crop, again moving more towards a square here, which I think works well with the head angle. You are lucky to have such a beautiful subject to photograph. I had a lot less to work with ;) Bumping up.

The missing tones here are exceptional and very artistic to lend a kiss of a graphical treatment. The face angle is great and the cropping makes this image sharply impressive. Bumping up.
