Really good focus. Perhaps, the cropped is not the best in my opinion |

Indeed. The strenght of a portrait is in the eyes. Here the visual expression is enhanced by a well determined facial expression. The lighting is on the money and the framing is superb. Bumping up. |

Quite striking. Good composition, good choice in using black and white. Great capture of the eyes. |

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.
excellent work! the lighting, composition, focus, expression--everything comes together here. the range of tonalities and the textures all come through. i hope to have this much control when i take my turn! 8 from me. |

SmellyFish, Smeee-ll-y Fish... what are they feeding you??? (sorry, lame "Friends" reference. Ok, I know it's smellycat but whatever.... :-)
Great shot, intense look... love the eyes! And excellent treatment. Not quite b&w and not quite sepia, nice in-between tones. |

For some reason the slight variation in lighting from left to right eye bothers me. I like it for the face, but I would like the "windows" to be evenly lighted. Excellent focus and good catchlights on the left. 8 |

Very powerful. Many good shots here but the best are with the eyes communicating to the viewer such as yours. Good luck with well composed shot. |

This portrait is just great. Perfect clarity and lighting to help show details. The skin tones are very pleasing. The only thing that distracts me are the highlights on the camera right part of your shirt, but otherwise this is a captivating and wonderful portrait. the first 10 from me. |
