I like this doggy shot alot too. The shadows on the face draw you in. Great use of light and focus. |

I like the light but the left side is a bit too dark and for me the whole head would rate higher than just the nose up. I noticed most shots in the challenge were( or looked like) hand held shots so the soft focus or slight blur aren't too much of an issue.

i wouldn't have voted this terrible, or great for that matter.
the focus is a bit soft, and the highlights are over processed or over exposed.

Cute dog. As far as the photo is concerned I think it's a bit too shadowy for me. The wall in the background (upper-left) needs to go and the eyes looking up don't make for a 'portrait' type shot IMO. I'm not sure if you've done any post-processing yet, but the face, eyes particularly (right one), need to be sharpened - they're a little soft. I would've rated it a 5 in a challenge. Is the dog used to your camera yet? ;^) |
