 The Cold War played a major part of the 1970's. Nuclear Proliferation was reaching an accelerated pace. I hope some people take a second and reflect on this troubling time. Other titles include "The Arms Race", "The Cold War Revisited", and "Back in the U.S.S.R. vs. Cheeseburger in Paradise". I hope everyone enjoys this photo. As always, if I improve then I am pleased. Thank you.

Sorry this didn't place higher..it was my favorite pick...I think it's because it makes you think about nuclear testing and has an intimidating quality about it... the fact that it is such powerful and horrific imagery probably was something people couldn't handle.

That's a cool effect. How did you get that broad white line? The colour is great. 10. (Even though the climax of the cold war was rather in the sixties).

I really like this picture, especially the palm tree in the foreground, however the white light straight down the middle ruins it for me. I think it is a lovely and well composed picture but should have the white line taken out. Teh reflection in teh see is lovely but the added "line" ruins the picture for me. All in all it is a good picture except for this. Good job.

Photograph to blown out for me. Really hurts my eyes. IMO it's not a long shot connecting the title to a movie of the 70's. And the cold war was before, during, and after the 70's. I wish you well in the challenge.

very 70s with the yellow tone. i bet your camera didn't feel good after that one though.

great color in the sky. the title has to tie it in with the theme, but that's ok. If you were going for a war theme, I would have left out the sail boat. Anyhow great job, 8
