This was an idea I thought of while trying to go to sleep one night. I decided I was better off trying to take the picture. That was 4 hours ago.

Anyway, loads of stuff going on in this one but i think its my most orginal idea yet.

With house lamps surounding me I took a white wooded board from my "build your own desk". I set the cameras settings then held the board where you can see that straight line under my shoulders (yes, that unsettling face is me, its 5 am, give me a break). Thats how I got to look a little separated from my body. BTW the background is my white bedroom wall. Nothing I do is professional.

So on to Photoshop...
Set the levels so the background is pure white
a little contrasting
a little burning/dodging of shadows
then smart blur

there you have it
enjoy!

While this is not a bad photo it I just don't like it. I feel that it is a very creative and appropriate approach to meet the challenge. I also think that the fading effect was interesting. While this is an eye grabbing shot it just does not apeal to me. I feel that to much was lost using the technique you used to fade. The highlight are horrible and most of the photo is either oversaturated or burned out. I will acknowledge however that this was probably intentional and that it was necessary to acheive the desired effect. to be fair i'll go with a 5 for this one.

Unique interpretation of challenge. The border is a little distracting.

Usually I am not a fan or borders, or of "over processed" shots. However, here I really love the effect you have achieved. Great stuff.
