I really have no idea how this is going to go over. One, because it broadly defines the challenge, and two because it's a rather touchy subject matter. But, without touching on those touchy subject matters, where would we be? Art would lose it's edge.

These girls are neither queer, nor was this an actual wedding shoot. They are models, and the shoot was on more of a fashion related theme. Yet, something about them in the wedding dresses surrounded by those huge, hulking, official-looking columns... it was all right there.

Looking forward to your responses,
Amanda

You have done a great job. The image says a lot and I really enjoyed seeing it in the challenge. It was refreshing to see an image that makes you think. All the best to you.

Congratulations, I'm happy to see this finished far higher than I would have guessed.

Perhaps we would be where many of our countrymen wish we were: a stagnant society, forever interpreting our founding documents as if 200 plus years hadn't transpired since those documents were first signed.

Again, thanks for taking a chance and, it would appear, for embracing progress.

Beautiful. I missed this one in voting, but would have scored it 9 or 10 I'm sure.

I had an entry with a similar subject matter (only with males), in the Heroes challenge. Glad to see this did really well.

Excellent use of B&W and it's nice that you were able to capture such a somber tone for this challenge. Great job!

Laws that block gay marriages are stupid imho. You've got two people with the same kind of feelings and emotions like any other person on earth, but these other persons want to blindly ignore that from some kind of questionable moral background. Jeez, there is not one serious good reason to block this. Not even the "I don't want that my kids see gays holding hands in the park or kissing on a bench". Kids don't suddenly turn gay like flicking a lightswitch.
In Holland we allow it for quite some time now. Our land has not changed a bit, nobody is hit by lighting, our land isn't flooded, nobody is hurt, religion goes on as before, the culture hasn't changed, there are just a lot of people who are a little bit happier than they already were.
This was what the photo was about, right?

Nice photo btw, the column at the rigth is a bit big in relation to the main subjec, but all that's to the left of it works well.
