kind of a bit straying from the topic, but I like the picture in itself. |

I like this image. Interesting having the face out of focus and unrecognizable. |

Good dof work. Not seeing the eyes of the player lends a macabre air to it, but I sense, by the compositio, that is what you wanted. - to obscure the eyes We each are entitled to our artistic interpretation; this just didn't speak to me. Rated it 6 for clarity and dof. |

Bobby Fisher never played versus Karpov, He played versus Boris Spasky in ReykjavÃk 1972. That was the real Cold War in chess. Bobby Fisher stoped playing Chess after that mast(besides a rematch in old Yugoslavia 1992)
About this picture. Nice use of dof, Thie kings are sharp. But a bit noisy in the background - 6 |

Cool idea, but is the REALLY Bobby, or Anatoly? |

Good take on the challenge, I tend to believe the image should speak the idea/story without the title needing to and this seems to be a little far from that. Maybe a little more light on the left but overall great shot, nice DOF and framing. Good luck |

Unfortunately Fischer never played Karpov - theirs was the match that Fischer ducked in '75. You probably meant Fischer-Spassky '72. At any rate, a good photo interpretation of that memorable event. |

Great shot, the link to the 70's doesn't quite work for me though. |

I'm not usually a big fan of chess shots, but I really like this one a lot! The placement of the head is cool, and the depth of field is just right in my book. Excellent work! |

Like this, not sure whether the 70's feeling comes through in the photo though.7 |

Great relationship to the theme. Sure wish spot editing was allowed to remove the dust specs on the blk king LOL Good job. |

Ah.... yes... the match that never was! Not sure covering the eyes is a metaphorical statement and unsure how well that works, but it is a good picture.

They were bigger than Olympic athletes during these Cold War matches. The dominance of the dark piece slighty over the light one is interesting (as the white one is slightly forward.) Your understanding of perception introduces a slight movement to the image. |

Well executed but the pic wouldn't stand without the title. |
