Just a note, but this photo may seem like the ring is being put on instead of taken off because the thumb is angled as if pushing the ring on. It would be angled the other direction if it was pulling the ring off.

Ok, I have no idea why the image feels like the ring is being put on & not taken off... actually it was motionless when the frame was shot:)

And I agree, the image is technically nice, just lacks some emotion... about the manicure, well, it could just be any person, not necessarily someone upper class.

I agree that mostly there needed to be someway to inject more emotion into this image.

Thanks for all the comments.

Technically flawless, but the BG seems utterly out of place here, and the image "feels" more like the ring being placed than removed. Nicely shot, regardless.

very crip and clean image. The lighting is also very nice. The image seems to be missing somthing for me. The only thing I can think of would be a reason for the separation. I don't know how that could be worked in though. Great shot vith a strong message. 7

Clean and sharp but doesn´t give me much (to be honest)

Good idea, well executed, I would have preferred better manicured hand on a close-up detailed shot.

This composition somehow gives me the feeling of putting the ring on, not taking it off.

This kind of concentration on details really requires hyper-careful preparation: somehow, the tiniest things stand out.

It is hard to tell if it is coming off or with the white back gorund going on

It's hard to tell here whether the ring is being removed, or replaced.

There is a lot of pixelation on the lower left corner of the picture and around the thumb, which is slightly distractly. Good interpretation of the challenge.

nice idea, but i would not really want to look at the picture twice, im not sure what it lacks, maybe the emotion ?
