The challenge this week was very selective. I really wasn't sure how to go about shooting and choosing the shot you see above. I had some ideas but I wanted the shot to be creative most of all. We'll see how it goes.

Cropped slightly and curves also adjusted slightly.

I think you took a bit of a different approach to this topic than most did. Creativity can be really good, but the tricky part is to come up with a good shot that's creative. First and foremost, if the shot isn't appealing then it often doesn't really matter how unusual or creative it is. Sometimes I'll spend all week trying to come up with something creative and then just give up and shoot a cliche, typical picture that'll score really well.
I think that if you look at the other submissions then you'll see that most people used this topic to show beauty and art that already exists in the kitchen. A big part of photography is being able to show mundane, everyday objects in an appealing way. This was a good opportunity to do that.
Technically, your picture isn't all that bad. Maybe more dof would've helped with the focus, but the biggest problem is the composition and subject. It doesn't make a lot of sense, and just doesn't have a lot going for it aesthetically. Regardless of the topic, I think that a good goal is to try taking pictures that are visually appealing - something that someone would want to print. IMO, if it isn't a good picture outside of the challenge then you haven't accomplished much.

With that recipe you'll need a good exhaust fan...

This is funny, and the title is hilarious. You do have a good imagination, I like this shot.

A light shining into the oven would have been a good highlight.
