 I knew I wanted to use snow as a background, because a surprise storm came on the first day of the contest. So I wandered around the farm looking for something to use as a subject. I just noticed a piece of hay seed sitting on a bale, so I thought, "what the heck." I hope ya'll enjoy the finished product.

The border is a bit heavy for such a delicate subject, but it's beautifully exposed and focused. Lovely details on the snow crystals and the seed.

I think this is my favorite of the bunch. I like the choice of a natural background. I like the fact that I can see the texture in the snow clearly. I like the black line at the top. I like the little seed head as a subject, its placement, and its perfect definition.
