Challenge: Light On White (Basic Editing III)

2 light bulbs on posterboard. I used my 500 watt shop light from Home Depot, set camera left and aimed at the ceiling. Also had white foam core on the right side of the bulbs and posterboard. Used an old Vivitar 2500 flash on manual mode to help even things out a bit more. After I took the shot, in photoshop I used levels and curves to make adjustments, a slight contrast tweak, a slight crop, then USM. Had this been advanced editing, I would have dodged the shadows and the top left corner but since it's not, I'm just hoping for the best.
As far as meeting the challenge, well, this has got to be about as head-on as it gets. ;o)
I expect about a 5.6 for this, because I'll be knocked heavily for the shadows and the slight vignette in the top left corner. I'm sure I'll get DOF comments too. Overall, it was a great experiment for me because I'm very weak in both lighting and studio shots. |

| So many light bulbs in this challenge. I have not been very impressed with them at all. I mean, it's a light bulb and who wants a picture of a light bulb...but I am a bit partial to this one. Nicely shot, creative view. 8 |

| Nothing makes this photo of 'light' on white worse than any other; but it's about the sixth or tenth photo of bulbs and I'm prepared not to see any more.... |
