My self critique:
Ok the one thing that bothers me most about this photo is the botom where the leaves are cut off. It is almost like it just stops. I learned a lot doing this light on white and it is not as easy as I first thought. If I had the challenge to do over again I would back up a little to not cut the leaves off on the bottom. I do like how close to solid white I got it. I haven't been able to duplicate it. I probably can if I use regular paper again I have since started using foamboard. Foamboard doesn't seem to work as well.

This is a very nice image, although my eyes are drawn to the unevenness of the background. Although it was very slight, sometimes I just get nit picky like that. (The lower left corner is darker than the others). OTher than the very slight unevenness, this is a great image. |

I think there is a lot of white here...but over all this is a great pic...the flowers look very real...soft and delicate.... |

I think this is very well done, one of the better entries in the challenge. I think the "lower" average isn't an issue of 1's and 2's--the distribution is quite normal for here, and it has a strong mean at 5. I think the scoring issue is simply DPC tastes. The image lacks the pop or subject twist that is popular here. For what it's worth, I gave it a 7; to me the dark solid border detracks from it's delicate pastel tones and the composition could have been a bit stronger. |

to much white space looks like it's missing something |

The flowers are very delicate and beautiful, unfortunately they are overshadowed by the heavy black border |

I think the background is overlit andyou have lost detail in the blooms |

These flowers almost seem to be a little washed out from the light. Nice composition though. |

Nice shot and like the soft color - the black border detracts a bit from that. |

I like the composition, but the contrast between the background and foreground needs to be defined a little more. |

I think I like what I think you are trying to do; but I don't think I like how it works. I'm finding the flowers a bit too blurry and their value to be just a little to close to that ot the background. The negative space seems just a bit too self-conscious. Wish I could be more specific, because it is evocative of old Japanese flower paintings and I really like this sensibility. |
