 This was quite a learning experience. I spent many hours searching for the right subject, and more hours trying to capture it with a white background. (Just two hours after this shot was taken, the dandelion had lost all it's seeds.)


Available light against a white board. Basic editing. Cropped out dark areas to better meet the challenge theme.

This is my first submission to this forum. I'm looking forward to learning from the reviews so that my next entry is better.

I don't understand why this photo didn't score higher! It's a perfectly executed macro, fits flawlessly with the theme, and is wonderfully evocotive in composition. I would have placed it in the top 10, definitely.

Wonderfully simple and quiet. I would like just a little more contrast on the center of the former dandelion, but I know basic editing doesn't allow for that. Good luck.

Feels a little bit washed out. Maybe tried whitening the background too much? Great clarity and marco work

This is a nice shot. I like how you can see each individual piece coming out from the center. There is also a lot of detail in the entire subject. I love how many different lines can be seen to. Another nice thing about this shot is you can see texture and weight in this picture. Nice work.

Did you tone down the saturation or brightness or something? The colors seem unnaturally washed out. Nice picture otherwise, though.
