Bleeding Heart Dove: Slate grey on the back and white in front. The distinctive, diagnostic mark is the "bleeding" spot in the middle of its breast. They look like they have been shot. Male and female are exactly alike except for iridescent metallic green, purple and chestnut on the back of the male's neck. This ruff of color is display plumage. Both sexes have bands of dark grey and chestnut on the wings. The feet are purplish-red, the beak is grey and the eyes are dark brown.
