november, 2002

we went for a drive on an untypically warm sunday afternoon in november, and wound up visiting a number of the colonial plantations along the james river. this was shot on the lawn of Westover Plantation, built in 1730 by William Byrd II, the founder of Richmond, VA. it was a sunny, semi-hazy day, without much clouds. this late in the afternoon, there wasn't much to capture in the sky. even though the sky is a bit blown out on the right, it is one of my alltime favorite images.

[shot with my Rebel 2000 on 100iso film, digitized at time of processing by Ritz.]

[this is one of the images in my Pre-Digital collection.]

I was thinking the same thing as Debi. Wonderful capture.

This should be framed right next to the sunset photo. A yen and yang sort of thing.

Most of all -- I'm impressed that the kids willingly hold hands in public
