ITs very difficult to get this rock in a picture. I know i've tried many times to get a good picture of it. To those who dont know the mist usually obsures it. I like the place ment of the Rock in the picture as it shows the water appearing to calm on this side of it. I gave you a 10 on it and think it deserved an avg at least as high as the commentators gave you.

Hello all and thanks for all the votes and helpfull comments on this my first entry after hanging out a while and watching from the wings. For those of you who asked, the picture was taken at Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. Thank you to all who correctly commented on the greens and magentas. between overedoing it with levels and color"mis"mangement thats why most of them are there. however the water and the ice did have a natual greenish tinge and there was some color in the mist and falls from the sunlight...but yes...the colors were off. thank you to those that noticed enought to comment they shouldn't be there, and also thank you to those that liked them or liked the picture in spite of them. |

I think this great photo ranked behind a couple of other photos that have absolutely nothing interesting in them. In my oppinion, this should have been in the top 3. |

Excellent subject, but the green and red hues are distracting. Bet this would look much better in B&W (although some people seem to think that isn't appropriate for this challenge) |

Cool shot...the ice or minerals on the rock mimics the fall of the water. I love how nature repeats patterns. As an artist I like looking at your photo! Your colored-tinting is creative, though I would like it a little bit better if the tintintg were in blues, purples, and pinks. imho

where's the white? is the purple and green in the water from post-shot manipulation? |

Fantastic shot. The juxtaposition of water and icy rock with foaming and vaporization of water in background is very effective...love it! 10 |

I think you have an amazing composition here...however you should of cropped out a little more water on the bottom. the rock should be level with the bottom of the photo....very good job !....8 |

mist gives this photo its appeal, unfortunate that there are traces of colour at the top of the falls. good image, like the ice formation position. |

This is beautiful. I hope people aren't being too picky about the dark water at the bottom. I loved this. |

Top 10. Is it me or is there a slight magenta cast to some of the fog & central streaks of falling water? |

Now all it needs is a group treading water... Very nicely done on this. I like the rock under soft ice and the water showing the edges so to speak. |

I understand what you are after here and it's a beautiful image, but the challenge calls for a white BG and this wasn't isn't. Still, it's an honest attempt and just a differing interpretation, I am giving it a 7. |

Photo of 'something,' a rarity in this competition. I like the four textures of water and the strong light. My temptation would have been to crop off the top until the photo was square - that may be too severe, but I think the greenish tinge needs to go. |

Hmm, this seems more to me like "white on light" than "light on white," but I like it anyway. Couldn't guess where this might be in the world except Iceland or Yellowstone, but that probably does nothing but show my provincialism. Great shot. |
