light on white i cannot see it
a nice composition but i can't see how this meets the criteria

I am not one to get picky on "meeting the challenge", but have actually tried to get myself to pay more attention to it. It wouldn't be fair to those who did include a light color in their image to score this, a B & W, high. Sorry. This is a stunning image. EDIT: after so much variance in the interpretation of the challenge, I am coming back through and this time judging on photogrpahic quality only, and not if it meets the challenge within reason. Bumping up.

Background looks black to me

Nice photo, but I feel that the dark background defeats the idea of the challenge.

Nice picture, but I'm not sure it fits the challenge because the background is dark.

to me this is more of a black and white than a light color on white background as the challenge suggested.

Background much too dark. Love the idea of translucency. It would have been great on a whiter background

not to white of a background

Hummm...this almost seems to be the reverse of the challenge.

doesnt really fit the category, because its light on black.

A different take on this challenge, but equally effective. Very well lit, not overexposed. Beautiful image to look at. 10

p.s. the border could have been a bit thinner - it is quite strong when it's this wide.

The background might be a white sheet, but it doesn't look white.
Probably if the lighting source came from another direction.....

Hard to call the background white, at least to my eye.

Your deep shadows are an interesting interpretation of 'light on white'.

To my eye, this meets the challenge - nicely done.

Reminds me of a point that graphicfunk made about any given challenge implying its opposites-- he said something to the effect of: "In a 'Black' challenge, there is a place for a mostly white photo," though his phrasing was better. Great photo, but questionable border?

Either I need some serious calibration of my monitor or the background on this photo is anything but white.

Where's the white background?
