An unusually stirring photo. I don't know why, but when I first saw it, the woods scene from Wizard of Oz popped into my head. Good drugs in the 60s and 70s I guess.
Anyway...you have captured Mr. Adams style indeed. The main thing that he caught on film was an overall idea and complete feeling. In all of his pictures, even his earlier ones, there is a central object (yours I would think is the road) that first captures the essence of the print. But if you look at, or isolate, sections of the prints there is another story to be told. You have done that quite well.
I met Mr. Adams when he gave a "special" class in Glenwood Springs, CO back in the early 80s. He asked us to bring some of our favorite work and he would critique them. Some he obviously didn't like and he nicely told you how you could improve on them. Some he liked and he would tell you so. But for a very, very few he would tell you that he liked your photos... and give you a pat on the back. You would know you did extremely well. Myself... didn't get a back pat. With this photo... you would have!
Congrats!! |

Too much contrast imo. The title and AA appropriateness are on the numbers. |

I love the bridge in this photo, works great with the background and makes it stand out from some of the mountain only photos. |

I think you hit the contrast and style just right. The two trees on the right just overpower the image and make it seem cluttered instead of clean. Maybe just one of them forming the right border and a square crop would make it seem better. |

Nice capture. Lotes of tonal ranges/ Like the steps from sky, peak, slope, trail, love the shadow of the rialinh and that craggy tipped tree. Good luck with this well composed representation. |
