Thanks for the comment. I knew it wouldn't finish that great but I really like picture and, in the end, I didn't want to submit a typical landscape. I'm actually happy with my score. |

I feel this should have been placed higher..it is very evocative of Adams' tree closeups..people didn't seem to like anything except the panoramas most of the time. |

The light that helped capture this texture is just right. Great contrasts and lines! |

My kind of subject, but I do feel that an deep DOF was essential here. Longer shutter and stopping down, while focusing on the furthest element, would have resolved this and given a real AA feel tot he composition - which is good but frustrating due to the focus. |

The lines and curves on this image are very nice. This photo looks very nice in BW and I love the shadowing effect created by the bark. 6 |

very appropriate subject for the challenge - just a tinge soft, but I like the tonality and composition. |

Nice subject, the focus seems a little soft in the upper left corner. |

The grain in this peice of wood was caught excellently... the depth is why i gave you a 10 |

A nice flowing subject with a good tonal range. Seems to lack sharpness in fore and background. -6 |

Very, very nice. Very much in the Weston/Adams mode, and you're to be commended for not exagerrating the contrast. It's a little lacking in critical sharpness, and the DOF is falling off upper left; an AA picxture would have both those under control. 9 |

This is classic, and I think it to be a marvelous shot. The lines are simple and very engaging, and the tonal work is superb. 9 |
