 This is a shot of Mt. Hood from Portland. We have been sending all our rain South to California this year. One of the driest winters on record. The mountain should be covered with snow, you shouldn’t be able to see the rocks like this until late June. We might have to import water from California this year....LOL
Didn’t capture this as well as I liked. The sun came out just on the peak of the mountain. Really looked cool, I blow a little of the highlights at the peak, and not sure about the high contrast in the trees/bushes. Was trying to show good range with black/white and still keep some detail in the foreground....hmmmmmm
Shot in B&W 20D, just a little curves and levels, burned the mountain to help it stand out,(not good enough to play with the sky) resized, usm, save as web.
This was one of the toughest challenges for me. Well, we will see.........ace

I really like the capture of the peak, although I feel that the foreground is a bit too dark.

Exposure seems to be good! I wonder what it would have looked like if you had gotten a reflection of the peak in that water there? It's cool how the sun peeked through to light up the peak.

Almost looks like Mt Fuji... Contrast makes the foreground a little too dark for me though.
