Thanks so much! it's nice to get this from the blue ribbon in the challenge!

In the hindsight, I probably should've dodged and burned it to increase the "punch", but somehow I wanted to preserve a subdued tone of this photo.

Thanks to all other commenters, too. always appreciated.

Wow, I had no idea Ansel Adams took a photograph of Scripps Pier. Just googled it to see what it looked like. Good job! =)

I like the reflection of the sun in the sea.

Fascinating remake of the original, suffers from lack of luminosity, an overall sense of dullness.

A beautiful example of rephotography. I like yours just as much as the original!

Like the sunbeam on the water, I'd like to see a little more detail on the left side near the shore.

The reflection of the sunlight on the water and the bird does very much for this image. Other parts needs more contrast for my opinion. Needs some curves or dodge/burn editing. Nice image though.

Beautiful recreation of an Adams classic. The sunset is a great improvement. Adams has got you slightly on clarity and the surfers add a lot to his composition. Both are great shots.

Very cool, I actually like yours better than Ansel's! Did I just say that?
