When I took this picture, it was not intended for the AA challenge. The comment made regarding the background is quite valid but when taken, I used a red background. Only when I decided to change it to B/W did I realise I should really have used a black background, then I would not have needed to burn it as I had to.
This is only the 3rd challenge I have entered and I am always encouraged by the comments I receive.
Last entry was 83rd this one 66th....... going in the right direction! Thanks all
The one thing that does amaze me is that I received 1 from one person and 6 tens? how can views vary so much? I see this happens with many entries.

A good solid floral study with tones to capture the texture and form. Bumping up to 7 |

I like the simplicity of this and the way that the stem leads to the corner of the frame. There seems to be a bit of a 'glow' around the flower on my monitor - I don't know whether it's meant to be there or not, but I quite like it. |

Nice low key macro shot. Was this lit with a spot light? The flower almost seems to radiate of its own internal light source. Possibly a little less of the smudging on the outside of the flower (little less glow) would have been nice too. 6 |

Gotto love this picture. It would be a 10 if it didn't have the border, I find it very distracting. |

It's quite gorgeous, but that gaussian blur seems a little out of place. |

Great study with great clarity and tonal range. Should receive very high marks. |

This is the beginning of a great photo. The burning of the background around the flower is visible though... Exposing this flower for the highlight and using a black background tilted to an angle where no light would hit it would force the background to perfect black without the need to edit it... |
