An intriguing subject with some nice detail, which is marred only by a super-dense, busy background. The moonlight is almost irrelevant due to a lack of context to demonstrate time of day. Main subject is a little washed out in the foreground, so it may have been better to move round and use some directional light to pick up the form and texture better. |

Yes, he did take some portraits and color shots, but in my opinion they are not what define his style. Everyone experiments, but one's style is what is common and familiar. If every type of photo someone ever took were included in a description of their style, then every photographer would have essentially the same style. In my opion, what defines Ansel Adams' STYLE is high contrast outdoor black and whites, not every photo he ever took. This looks pink to me... |

It's a great image, but not at all in ansel's style. Grainy, shallow DOF, arty. |
