 A well constructed salad yeids a witty pun on the theme. Shot in my kitchen shortly before dinner. It was delicious!

Little was done in the way of post processing. The original was a little washed out so I just bumped up the levels in Photoshop Elements and voila!

My first DPC entry. Be gentle!

rigrider: I agree ;). I did expect to do somewhat better then 50th place, but that's the problem with going 'outside the box' on a challenge like this I guess.

pawdrix: Along with being an amature photographer I'm also an amature chef so...

I've been taking lots of food shots. As I'm a chef and have a pretty good angle for plate design. Id have to say this is a very nice shot. Great color.

YOU WERE ROBBED!!!!!!!! 50th place?!?!?! OMG! This should have at the minimum been put in the top 10. Grrrr, that's the problem with concept shots, nobody gives them the respect they deserve!!!

I still love this one. If I didn't make it a favorite before, I'm doing so now.

Nice interpretation of the challenge by bringing out the idiom. The white background is a bit distracting, in my opinion. Also, the reflections. I'm wishing the glint on the other peas and on the (presumed) glasses in the background were not there, and instead a bit of gloss gets placed on the two peas in the pod.

try a closer and more angled shot... very nice concept. let the light thru the skin colour the snap.. thin im' going to sit and try something like this now

Great Idea!!! I wish I had thought of it. I do wish that your bean was more perfect and I think you could have made the shot more "beautiful" by desaturating and comming in closer. However, that would be if I was taking the picture and eveyone has differnt styles so while I think I would have done something differnt I do appreciate you way also, so please take my suggestions with a grain of salt cause your pic really is wonderful.

This is an interesting idea. I think it would be better with a much tighter crop eliminating the blurred foreground.
