Very nice indeed.... especially with the smilling people in the background! the picture is radiating happiness... maybe a little bit more blur/lower value of the apperture would have been even better... but in the way it is right now, very good |

Take out that dog. And the picture is 10x better. You should have cropped out the stuff intruding on the left, but otherwise I really kind of like this one. Maybe I just have a soft spot for all wrinkled and bemused. |

In the small sample of the entries I have viewed so far, I have seen many dog entries, and I fear that in this group, your photo may not distinguish itself sufficiently to really stand out for the voters. It has all the elements of a candid snap - furniture, people, pictures cluttering the background, while the two subjects look relatively static. The sum of the parts don't add up to an image that really grabs the viewer either visually or emotionally, at least not me. For this dog-human connection, I think you need more - maybe an embrace with the person having eyes closed and an expression of serenity, or the animal having that look of total submission and devotion to the human counterpart - whatever. Honestly, all I see in this image is a dog, probably visiting a retirement home, looking up at a woman. I don't _feel_ a connection in them, and they don't really connect with me. I'd give it a 5 because it's a technically adequate shot, but lacks the significant "wow" factor that leads one to linger and look. |

Beautiful shot. Only the background takes away from it. |
