I had given it a 9 - had I known it was yours it would have gotten a 10 :)
Well done! |

I was sure this pic was gonna get top scores... the best idea I've seen for this challenge. Maybe the focus threw some people but I really like this shot |

This could qualify for "stock photos" too. Very nice - I like the sepia but with the white base. |

Catchy concept. Love the simplicity of the composition with the blurred board in the background. Nice job. |

Best friends is a stretch since these chess pieces should be enemies. Nice colors, compostion and contrast, though. |

A very nice take on the challenge. Yes, title is required in this case, but compared to all the other entries where even title can't help them, I am bumping this up a notch.
There the rule of 3rds is followed, although there is something with this image that bothers my eyes, I can't grasp what it is right now. I'll come back for more comments if I figure it out.
I like the blurred background, although the white stand the kings are placed on is a little distracting. Also, I think I figured out what's bothering me: the color of the background is too much like the color of the main objects. If you could have desaturated it just a weeny bit (not to lose all the color, just a little bit) or perhaps converted the whole photo to b/w, maybe it would have been better. Just a thought.
I see this finishing in top 15, easy! |

maybe the line should have been a little straight... its distracting |

how does a chess metaphor make it into nearly every challenge?
This one is cheeky, but unsurprisingly enough, lacks the sort of emotion that i would want to see in this challenge. |

I find the tonalitly in this shot, while suitably warm, muddles the lighter chess piece with the background. But I think you are right that the board needs to be in the near distance.... Cute idea/good title. |

This is a "Concept Shot" that may actually do well in this challenge. Good job. My only critique: Aren't they really bitter enemies?!?! Lol. Keep up the good work. 8 |

One of the best shots I've seen yet of a chess set... It's hard to find emotion in such a simple game, but you've done it! Congrats! |
