I'm going to guess that this is a candid. If not, then it's an incredibly staged shot. Anyway, I really like this shot, and I think it's because of the strong element of realism it has. The expression is clear and effective, but not overstated. The background provides a context fitting to a young boy but does not draw away from the subject. The entire shot creates a scene with all the complexity of real life but it is understood at first glance. The framing and subject placement are perfectly effective as well. I hope this shot does well. 10

This is a very nice portrait... the emotional capture here is also very strong, but MAD is not really the emotion I see. This child seems to be in deep thought about something and a sense of 'anger' doesn't really show through since I don't know the circumstances of the shot. Regardless of that, it is a VERY good shot :) - setzler
